She also holds a LEED AP (ID+C) accreditation, a Global Reporting Initiative Certification, and is certified in Advanced Permaculture and considers herself a passionate gardener with a green thumb for life.
Project Manager & Designer
Lucy joined Planted Design in late 2015. Although her background is in science and operations, she has always loved plants and good design. She recently finished an intensive summer program at UC Berkeley in Landscape Architecture. Prior to joining Planted Design, she worked as the Operations Manager at Prismatic and an Operations Specialist at Google X. She holds a Bachelors of Science from Brown University in Biology with a concentration in Ecology and Animal Studies. Lucy has a small jungle growing in her house and always open to taking in more orphan plants.
Director of Operations
Nick is a creative designer, maker and problem solver, with ten years of experience managing high-impact projects, producing tailored cultural and music events, and executing top-quality custom builds with a focus on community, sustainability, and greening the built environment.
He lives for the challenge, and has a long track-record of getting things done in complex and high-stakes situations ranging from running voter operations in New Hampshire for President Obama’s presidential campaigns, to managing supply chain operations for a sustainable energy company in Africa and India, to most recently starting his own design & build company here in the Bay Area.
In his role as Planted Design’s Director of Operations, Nick is thrilled that he gets to combine his love of making, his penchant for creative problem solving, and his passion for ecological design to help bring our clients' wildest dreams to life!
